TVET for Sustainable Development in Ghana
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Ghana plays a crucial role in addressing the skills gap and fostering economic development. However, many TVET institutions face challenges such as outdated infrastructure, insufficient training resources, and a disconnect between educational outcomes and industry requirements. This project aims to revitalize the TVET sector by enhancing the quality and relevance of training programs, thereby equipping young Ghanaians with the practical skills needed to thrive in a competitive job market. By focusing on sustainable development and industry collaboration, the project seeks to create a more dynamic and resilient workforce, ultimately contributing to the nation’s socio-economic growth.
Objective
The primary objective of this project is to improve the quality and relevance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Ghana. By upgrading the infrastructure, curriculum, and training methodologies, the project aims to equip students with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to meet the demands of the modern job market. This initiative seeks to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development, thereby contributing to the country’s socio-economic growth.
Target Group
The target group for this project includes young Ghanaians aged 15 to 35, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, who have completed basic education and are seeking practical skills for immediate employment. Additionally, the project aims to support current TVET instructors through professional development programs, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver high-quality education. Local industries and businesses are also a key focus, as their collaboration will help align training with real-world needs and opportunities.
